Books Are Magic!

Many Book Influencers, such as BookTubers and Bookstagrammers, have been to Books Are Magic! This is a popular independent bookstore located in the Cobble Hill area of Brooklyn, New York. I was lucky enough to be able to go in June of 2018.

The most iconic part of Books Are Magic, and the thing that sets it apart from other popular independent bookstores is the mural located on the side of the building. Many book influencers pose in front of this mural with witty Instagram captions all in agreement with the mural's sentiments. Books truly are magic.

The store is on the corner and from the front looks relatively small but once walking inside you notice that the store is more long than wide. In some cases, this would make a store feel small or cramped, but not here! The space is so much bigger than it appears on the outside, which adds to the magical atmosphere.

I loved how the store also had a wide variety of books. I saw so many books by famous authors that are well known and loved, as well as authors who are lesser known and waiting for readers to pick up their books and love them.

Something else that sets Books Are Magic apart for me is that many authors stop by to do signings, which is not always common for independent bookstores depending on the area. It looks like they attract a lot of people too. I plan on stopping by hopefully for an author signing soon to see how those are run.
